Sleep?? Who Needs Sleep??

Saturday night Belle developed a cough. She coughed a few times at night and then a little through out the day on Sunday. By the time bed time came around the cough had disappeared. She had taken a late nap on Sunday so her bed time got pushed back past 8:00. We laid her down and the struggle began. She learned how to roll over onto her belly on Saturday. So she kept flipping over and then start whining because she couldn't get back over. Finally she fell asleep, on her side. We woke up at about 12:30 to her coughing. I got up checked on her and gave her back the pacifier. Because she was awake she started crying once I left the room. So her and I ended up on the couch for a bit. Once she was asleep again I put her back down in the crib and crawled into bed.

Two o'clock she started coughing again, non stop. So I shut the monitor off, got up and her and I went to the couch. No sense in all of us losing sleep. She slept for about 5 minutes with me and had a bad attack. She was coughing non stop. We sat up and she kept going. She ended up throwing up and coughing at the same time. Freaked me out cause she started to choke a little. She stopped coughing and was breathing normal. I stripped her out of the onsie and just sat on the couch with her. I didn't know what to do.

Patrick, the amazing husband and father he is got up then and came out to the living room. I told him what just happened and he went and got dressed and went to the store to buy medicine at 2:30 in the morning. I got her changed and settled back on the couch. She was able to fall asleep for a couple minutes so the coughing wasn't so bad.

When Patrick came back we gave her some medicine and sat with her for a bit on the couch. I laid her back down a little after 3 and she immediately rolled over onto her side and fell asleep.

She slept for the rest of the night. She was stirring a little when I got up this morning. She ended up rolling over twice that Patrick got up and moved her to our bed when I was in the shower. When I got out, they were both sleeping in bed.

The little stinker knows how to ignore me when I am getting her up in the morning. She pulls her blanket up over her eyes so she can't see us and goes back to sleep.

She didn't cough at all this morning. I have a feeling she is going to sleep all day for grandpa. I think the three of us our functioning on 3 or 4 hours if sleep. Patrick and I will probably crash at Belle's bed time tonight.

  1. Rylie definitely has been teething for a while. I think she started drooling a lot around 3 months and then chewing on everything shortly after. Her first tooth just popped out right after her 6 months and then the second followed a week later. She was definitely a fussy teether, but all babies are different.
