A New Path...

So at the end of a very long stressful week (nope, make the month), we ended the week on a high. Patrick got the call Friday morning. The call that now changes everything. The call that now Patrick will be happy to go to work. The call that in about a year will make our financial situation that much better. The call that has steps to me finding a part time job. Patrick got the job in the bank. The call that was a long time waiting.

By Thursday we were all discouraged. He had gone on 6 interviews for this position and had been waiting 2 weeks for an answer that just seemed to not be coming. He talked to HR over and over again and they could never give him an answer even though he was told he would have known almost 2 weeks before. Then they told him 5 business days. Really?!?!?! So is this a transaction now that we have to wait 5 BUSINESS days??? Patrick went on a really horrible interview Thursday morning. One of the guys he was interviewing with was on vacation and the other had no idea Patrick was coming. That was the start of the day followed by the 5 business day line. Ugh! This day went beyond being stressed.

We went home with not much to say. Patrick went to cut the grass and Belle and I went to play in her room. We worked on sitting because for whatever reason she sits fabulously at school and at home just wants to flop on to her belly. We were working on sitting when Belle toppled over and bumped her head on the floor. I couldn't catch her fast enough. She didn't hit it hard but enough to scare her. I scooped her up and we headed to the back door to find daddy. By the time we were in the living room she was fine. We found daddy and we stood in the door watching daddy mow the whole back yard. She loved it. Watching and smiling at daddy just made all the stress lift. The night went much better.

Then Friday morning as I said everything changed. Patrick is so excited and thrilled and ready for this new path in his life, our lives. We can not wait for May 10th to get here. Not only is this a new position in a new department, it's a great opportunity for him. He has the ability move up and prosper in this new position.
