Doctor's, Belly Buttons, and Penguins...a week of Belle!

Poor Belle has had a cold since Monday. She has a stuffy nose and a cough. Even though it's hard to breathe at times, she still her happy self. We ended up having to take her to the pediatrician yesterday for something non related to her cold. I had noticed Monday night after her bath that her belly button just didn't look right. It was red and inflammed. So yesterday I kept an eye on it and noticed it started to get crusty and then in the afternoon started to pus. So we called the dr. and took her in. Apparently her umbilical cord never feel off all the way. The part that is attached to her never dried up and fell off. So the dr. had to pull it out and tie it off so that it can dry up and fall off in the next few days. The poor thing didn't like it very much and screamed. It didn't help that this had to happen during her feeding time either. Afterwards we fed her in the waiting room before leaving. She still was a bit cranky when we left. But by the evening she was happy and smiles again.

On a good note, they weighed her again while we were there and she is now 10 1/2 pounds!!! Yay Belle! She finally double her birth weight....3 1/2 months later haha. She will always be a little peanut!

She is loving school. She is so happy when we get there and gets a good amount of naps in too. She has already done her first art project. They made penguins out of their foot prints. We didn't get to see the finished project last week so hopefully we will be able to this week. I am loving the center as well. Every one is extremely nice there and very very helpful. We get a progress report every day when we pick her up. She loves the swing and is now very fond of the bouncer that we have been able to use it at home now as well. Hoping to have some more school updates this week!


I will post pictures from last night and today, later today. Hopefully she will let me, she wasn't having any of that last night.
